Channing, Abraham and Mullally to Join ‘It’s Only a Play’ on Broadway

Tony Award winner Stockard Channing, Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham and Emmy winner Megan Mullally will join Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick on Broadway in a newly revised version of Terrence McNally’s 1980s comedy “It’s Only a Play,” the producers said on Wednesday.

The show centers on an anxious playwright (Mr. Broderick); his best friend (Mr. Lane), who has left theater for television; the producer (Ms. Mullally) and a diva star (Ms. Channing) of the playwright’s new show; and a hypocritical drama critic (Mr. Abraham).
